Sustainability Programs
UHM Properties’ sustainability programs encompass conservation, recycling, and sustainable building practices, as well as environmental education for tenants. We “think green” in everything we do. We aim to minimize our properties’ environmental footprint and reduce spending using tools and technology that conserve the use of valuable resources such as water and energy.
UHM has worked with ABCD and the utility companies to access grants through the LEAN Multifamily Program. Through this program properties have been retrofitted with energy saving devices which have resulted in a reduction in energy use and substantial cost savings for property owners. Results are tracked through the use of monitoring services.
